Il Feuduccio is one of the reference producers for lovers of Montepulciano d’Abruzzo. This 2016 is so moreish and so well constructed it will recruit many to this DOC. “The fruit is long, savoury and rich” Vinous (90 points).”[...] warm ripe red fruits, spicy and crunchy with heft and presence but also juiciness”. Founded in 1851, Bouvet-Ladubay now back in the ownership of the family Monmousseau, for a sojourn it was owned by Champagne House Taittinger, is one of the most important independent wineries in the Loire and is France’s most highly awarded sparkling wine producer. For those drawn to pink Champagne but don’t want to pay €50+ this could be just what you have been looking for. This glorious fizz has a delicate pale pink colour, this wine has tiny bubbles and peach and raspberry aromas. It is well balanced with a fine mousse.
"Even though these Loire winemakers use the same methods of wine making as those in Champagne, they are not allowed to draw attention to the fact. This is made from Cabernet Franc. Stylish bubbles in a pretty shade of pink." Wine of the Week -Tom Doorley, The Irish Mail, 13/12/20 Alc: 12.5%
BODEGAS DE LA MARQUESA VALSERRANO RESERVA, 2015Bodegas de La Marquesa located in the Rioja Alavesa is one of the go to addresses for rich, sumptuous Rioja. The wines produced by the de Simon family from their 65-hectare estate are classic old school traditional Rioja yet have a foot in the modern camp. The result is mouth-filling wines with wonderful balance between savoury and fruit. Our read on this wine is that it is a highly expressive full bodied Rioja Reserva with notes of dried fruit, nutmeg and cherry and vanilla with a long, elegant finish. “.......It’s an elegant, savoury cuvee of Tempranillo and 10% Graciano with savoury tannins and fine, graceful raspberry and fresh herb notes”. Tim Atkins 93 points Rioja Report 2020. Alc: 14.5%
