Needless to say we are huge French enthusiasts and strive to have one of the most dynamic and exciting ranges of wine in Ireland.
From Bordeaux we are particularly proud to work with the Cuvellier family owners of Chateau Leoville Poyferre one of the super seconds of the 1855 classification (St.Julien), Chateau Moulin Riche (St Julien) and Chateau le Crock (St Estephe).
We also work very closely with two of the specialist negociants in Bordeaux who provide us with a great array of Petit Chateaux. They also allow us to source some of the very best wineries on the right bank from St Emilion and Pomerol where Merlot and Cabernet Franc are king. Similarly from the left bank (Medoc) in Bordeaux where Cabernet Sauvignon is the star. With our negociants we have access to the most famous addresses and great allocations when it comes to en primeur.
We have a particularly strong Haut Medoc representation with important references from Pauillac, St. Julien, St Estephe, Margaux, Moulis and Listrac and we stock many of the much followed Chateau Lynch Bages, Chateau Leoville Barton…..
Be prepared to be dazzled by the Pauillac de Chateau Latour in multiple vintages, charmed by Chateau Cambon la Pelouse one of the very best Cru Bourgeois, in fact in the 2016 vintage it won the trophy for the ‘Best Cru Bourgeois’ 2016
For Burgundy enthusiasts we really hope our extensive Pinot Noir selection will thrill, we are constantly fine tuning it! Our Cotes de Nuits offering features some great growers from Vosne Romanee, Echezeaux like Domaine Michel Noellat, Denis Mortet from Gevrey Chambertin. For Côte de Beaune fans our Volnay from La Pousse d’Or should prove thrilling or for our top tip we highly recommend you explore the wines of Jean Marc Vincent in Santenay. Also the Mercurey Premier Cru from Les Heritiers Saint Genys will thrill
For Loire enthusiasts our St Nicolas de Bourgueils, Saumur Champigny range have been very carefully selected to demonstrate the majesty of the Cabernet Franc. (Remember Cabernet Franc is the genetic father of Cabernet Sauvignon). Many of our Loire references are organic and biodynamic. Our Sancerre Rouge from Domaine Andre Vatan is a brilliant example of Pinot Noir from the Loire Valley.
From the Rhone Valley we explore all the great northern Rhone and Southern Rhone appellations. We are particularly proud of our Chateauneuf-du-Pape producer, Chateau Beauchene who produce a fantastic range of Chateauneuf-du-Papes and Cotes-du-Rhone all highly rated. Domaine l’Amauve from Seguret is one of the real heros and attracts in his small and very highly rated domaine Parker cannot praise this Domaine enough. The wines from Domaine l’Amauve are organic from the 2020 vintage.
For those who love the thrill of pure Syrah we have some great references from St Joseph including the lieu-dit St Joseph from Guigal 2017, the wonderful Croze Hermitage of Alain Graillot and the great Cote Roties of Yves Cuilleron. Hermitage enthusiasts might be tempted by the Paul Jaboulet Aine Hermitage la Chapelle 2011.
We are currently working on our Languedoc Roussillon offering and are delighted to work with the wines of Chateau Gilbert & Gaillard in St Chinian. We have a number of offerings on the way from Minervois and Faugeres.
