Perched upon the highest gravelly, clay-rich ridges of the northern Médoc—between the historic villages of Blaignan and Ordonnac -Château Potensac stands as the undisputed titan of the Cru Bourgeois classification.

Rooted in a site inhabited since antiquity, Potensac’s unique position takes full advantage of the Médoc’s literal namesake (medio aquae, or "in the middle of the waters"). The proximity to the estuary tempers the climate, while the elevated position provides exceptional sun exposure and natural drainage - a terroir that comfortably rivals many 1855 Classified Growths.

The estate carries a unique history: handed down exclusively through generations of women for centuries, it is managed today by Jean-Hubert Delon (of Château Léoville Las Cases fame), who inherited the property from his paternal grandmother, Georgette Liquard.
