    "Tutored from an early age by my father, the late 'TP', I inherited his knowledge, time and, of course passion for wine. Many trips, many bottles, many inspiring people from the world of wine and lo and behold, I am at Whelehans Wines. The dream was to create a centre of wine excellence where a great team would converge to offer great wines in a fun and friendly environment. I will let you decide wether my dream has come true."

    "Taking advantage of some extra time I had on my hands during the pandemic, I decided to study WSET L2 to advance my wine knowlegde. What had been a passing interest very quickly turned into a full-blown passion and I suddenly found myself bitten by the wine bug, I decided to leave behind the corporate world and go all in, signing up and completing WSET L3 as quickly as I could . It also got me over the world's worst case of writer's block. When David asked me if I'd be interested in writing a blog for the website, I felt like I'd been elected, I'm looking forward to sharing my knowlegde with you in the coming weeks and months, so watch out...The best part of working in the shop? The fact that every day I learn something new. "

    "Having spent 22 years as a practising solicitor, I decided to pursue a new career in the world of wine. Within 12 months I had completed WSET level 2 and level 3 and was fortunate to find myself working with David and his talented team at Whelehans Wines.
    My fascination of wine started when I was a student travelling through Australia. Since then, I have enjoyed visiting wineries and tasting incredible wines all over the World. The unwavering dedication that is needed to be a wine maker never ceases to amaze me.
    Most of my time is spent on the shop floor or at the W Tasting Bar where I really enjoy talking all things wine with our customers. It's exciting to think my career in wine only just begun!    "

    "Born and raised in the charming Jura region in France, where the Savagnin grape reigns supreme, my fascination for wine began as far back as I can remember. The complex aromas and flavours of a glass of Vin Jaune always transport me back to childhood Christmases, when we kids were allowed to smell and appreciate the intricate aromas of these mystical wines. this profound love of wine inspired me to pursue the WSET Levels 2 and 3, and eventually to start working here at WW. To me every bottle tells a story - a tale of terroir and craftmanship. The world of wine is endless, and the constant learning is what makes it so captivating"

    "My journey into wine was unexpected. After moving to ireland, I was in desperate need of work and happened upon an ad looking for an assistant in my local wine shop. Knowing nothing about wine, I got the job and quickly progressed to do the WSET level 2 Award, achieving 100% distinction, and that's when I got the bug. I learned that each wine has a story and like art, is a product of passion and dedication. There is always more than what meets the eye at first. And the more you learn about any particular bottle of wine, the more you appreciate it. Each has its own story and is a unique expression.
