Aromatic, fruity and with an attractive leafy character. Dark berries, blueberries and tomato leaf mix with spicy and floral flavours. Medium bodied with a lush, rounded feel on the palate. Tannins are firm yet fine grained with a long finish. Can be served lightly chilled.

Château de Coulaine had been producing wines continuously since the 14th century and were one of the top Chinon producers in the 19th century before phylloxera reduced the holdings to just over one hectare. Luckily for us they have since recovered and are once more recognised as a leading producer in the Loire. With low yields from old vines and a philosophy of minimum intervention in the vineyard, this Cabernet Franc is of a distinct character and style. Read more.
