    This second wine of the acclaimedChâteau Ausone offers ripe blackberry, plum, floral, and gentle spice notes. Medium to full-bodied, with silky tannins and freshness, it’s approachable earlier while retaining the estate’s elegance and minerality.
    • Blend of  Merlot(70%), Cabernet Franc
    • Aged 12 months in French oak

    STORY BEHIND THIS WINE

    This wine is produced by the 11th generation of winemakers of the Vauthier family, which has owned Château Ausone for over 300 years (the 2015 Ausone received a 100 Point Score). The vines average age of 31 years, are located in the south of the Saint Emilion village where the soils are clay based with sand and gravel. Fermentation and ageing in concrete vats and then another 12 months in barrels. An open and approachable expression from one of the region’s top producers.
