A lovely fruity taste. Kept on drinking over several glasses.
heard Jean Smullen give glowing review on Moncrieff's Movies & Booze segment on Newstalk. She was spot on!
It reminds me to Burgundy. Mineral, lovely acidity, and tropical fruits.

Synonymous with South African wine, Simonsig is a quintessential wine estate in historic Stellenbosch. While the founders and producers the Malan family have a wide range of wines on their portfolio, it’s this Bordeaux-style blend that they regard as their flagship wine.
Run by brothers Johan and Francois Malan, their late father Frans founded the estate back in 1964. As a reflection of the estate’s pedigree, Frans is credited with producing South Africas first sparkling Méthode Cap Classique in the style of Champagne, in 1971.
The estate’s first Tiara was made in 1990 and proved to be an instant hit, continuing to win numerous awards throughout the vintages. This is a deliciously complex wine that can stand up to any Bordeaux in its class.
