Beautifully ripe and elegant second wine of Chateau Mauvesin Barton

"Lots of sandalwood fragrance dominating the palate at the moment. Elegant, silky tannins. As it opens in the glass, beautifully ripe blackcurrant fruit unrolls like black ribbons down the tongue, framed in eucalyptus embers."
    Jancis Robinson

    • Blend of 46% Merlot, 44% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Cabernet Franc.
    • Aged 12 months in French oak
    • Jancis Robinson | 16.5/20 Pts
    Cellaring:  Drink now to 2029
Food Pairing: Perfect with a pan-seared duck breast in a rich blackberry reduction or a classic rosemary and thyme-crusted roast rack of lamb. Incredible alongside a slow-braised beef cheek over a smooth parsnip purée or a rich wild mushroom and truffle tart. Also delicious with smooth, savory cheeses like a mature Brie de Meaux or a semi-firm Saint-Nectaire | 🌡️Serve at around 16-18°C
