Best place to buy wine in Dublin!

I love calling to Whelehan’s on Saturdays as they have a free wine tasting and it just gives one an opportunity to taste wines that you might not have thought of purchasing. The range of wines is enormous and covers all price levels. There are always great options for under €20 The staff are extremely helpful in giving advice on wines and also in bringing bought purchases out to your car. John

Excellent delivery

The wine came in a sturdy box, the best wine package I have ever received. The bottles were surrounded by protective layers of cardboard in a firm manner which kept the packaging safe and strong. Sean

Ah Sauvignon...Easy to drink, easy on the pallet.

Very nice white wine. I enjoyed it both ways. Simply having a glass with friends while we chatted and equally well while eating a lovely meal with my husband. Subtle on the pallet and no sharp after aftertaste. I wish people would tell you that! Would highly recommend. Enjoy...drink sensibly.

Great stuff and service

I placed two orders for delivery but needed extra help with the delivery as I have a disability and limited mobility and need to get my order to my front door constant the support email address got a response very quickly and the order arrived at my doorstep as a I need great staff

A Lusciously Fresh Pick me Up

The incredible alchemy of grape blends! The garganega and trebbiano do something wonderful together resulting in a lusciously, flavoursome wine with a long finish that is zippily fresh without being too tart. Quite the best Italian white I have tasted in a very long time. Highly recommend.

Had this wine in MacNean House. Fruit flavours were excellent, complex notes.

Italian Heaven

Drinking aged Chianti for years until I tasted this gem at the bar, the wine's history told by the knowledgeable crew. Probably one of the best estates in Grosseto Tuscany. This wine punches way beyond the price level. My go to Italian. Thank you for the tip off!!

A really classy wine

Got this as part of a gift and have ordered three more for a special occasion- just a deeply flavoured wine with complex berry flavours and v smooth with some depth. Drank it early 2025 - that said lovely coming out of the bottle but had a little bit the next day. Not the same. Not sure that relevant!

So good I am tempted not to share my opinion

Whelehans has done an amazing job of sourcing a mid-sized Champagne producer making phenomenal wine that rivals most of the big name houses. The reserve is particularly good value and I have bought it in three formats; half bottles as an aperitif, bottles for celebrating being alive , and magnums as well-received dinner gifts
