For centuries, Burgundy has stood as the absolute reference point for single-varietal winemaking - where a shift of just a few yards up a vineyard slope completely changes what ends up in your glass. On Thursday 08th October, David Whelehan and Julien Comte from Iciar are teaming up to host an interactive evening dedicated to unraveling the secrets of this remarkable French region. Designed to make sense of Burgundy’s famous mosaic of vineyards without any of the snobbery, David will guide you through its iconic villages, producers, and quality tiers while Julien brings his expert knowledge of French gastronomy to the table.

To match the caliber of the wines, we’ve put together a fantastic spread of artisanal French cheeses, cured meats, and fresh baguettes handpicked by Julien from Iciar to complement every glass. Our line-up spans the full spectrum of the region: from the flinty, steely whites of Chablis and the richer, golden Chardonnays of the Côte de Beaune to the fragrant, red-berried Pinot Noirs of the Côte de Nuits. Along the way, David will share practical advice on decoding Burgundy labels, navigating vintages, and choosing the right glassware, while Julien walks us through the art of pairing fine wine with French cheeses.
