Unique, bold Cape white blend from South Africa

Thorne and Daughters is full-bodied and strikingly deep gold in colour. It tastes even better than it looks. Intense aromas of yellow plum, hay, brioche and bay leaf, with saline undertones. Delicious flavours of kumquat, wild honey and a little flinty smokiness also shine through on the palate. This has a lively acidity with a lengthy, textured finish

STORY BEHIND THIS WINE

Winemakers John and Tasha Seccombe have been making a name for themselves on the South African wine scene since they first opened Thorne and Daughters Wines in 2012 on the stunning Western Cape.
John and Tasha’s philosophy of old school simplicity with a modern twist results in beautiful wines that speak of their location The “Rocking Horse” Cape White blend is considered their flagship wine. Made with a nod to the Southern Rhone, one look at its strikingly golden appearance and you can picture yourself transported to the sun-drenched Cape of Good Hope. The name is taken from a wooden rocking horse that they made for their daughters out of old oak barrel staves 2020 was an excellent vintage here, marking as it did the end of a long drought on the Cape. The result speaks for itself.
