gentle, fruit-forward Moulis with great finesse

Delicate with vibrancy, plenty of blackberry fruits with well-defined but soft tannins, they have really done a great job in the vintage, a value pick and I can't remember tasting a better example of this wine during en primeur.”
    Decanter

    • Blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (59%), Merlot (35%) and Cabernet Franc (6%)
    • Aged 12-15 months in French oak ( 33% new oak)
    • Decanter | 92/100 Pts
    Cellaring:  Drink now to 2032
Food Pairing: Perfect with a pan-fried veal chop in a creamy chanterelle sauce or a classic roasted rack of pork with prunes. Incredible alongside a tender duck breast with green peppercorns or a beautifully crisped potato cake with duck confit. Also delicious with semi-hard, savory cheeses like a semi-mature Gouda or an artisanal Tomme de Savoie. | 🌡️Serve at around 16-18°C

    STORY BEHIND THE WINE

Château Mauvesin Barton is a historic Bordeaux wine estate in the Moulis-en-Médoc appellation on the left bank of the Gironde. In August 2011, the Barton Sartorius family acquired the Château. With the Barton family's centuries of experience and unique expertise behind them, each of the four family members plays a specific role, perpetuating tradition and sharing their passion.

For Bordeaux, the 2020 vintage promises to be excellent, despite one of the most trying years in recent history. Although the growing season saw some rain, it was the dry spells that took over, concentrating the grapes and creating a harvest with the potential to produce rich, intense wines . Overall yields were slightly below average, but fruit was generally healthy and of high quality.
