On the nose, Bertha's Revenge Gin opens with bright, fragrant juniper accompanied by sweet orange peel, cardamom, and a warm, earthy coriander base. The entry on the palate is exceptionally soft and rounded—a signature characteristic of its unique milk whey spirit - unfolding in smooth layers of sweet citrus, warm clove spice, and a delicate floral herbaceousness. The finish is long, creamy, and gently spiced, leaving a lingering, luxurious mouthfeel with subtle notes of pepper and warm citrus oil.

STORY BEHIND THE LABEL

Crafted at Ballyvolane House in County Cork, Bertha’s Revenge pays homage to Big Bertha - a legendary Droimeann cow from Kerry who lived to the record-breaking age of 48 and raised 39 calves. Instead of using traditional grain-based alcohol, founders Justin Green and Antony Jackson distill their spirit using whey, a byproduct of local Irish cheese-making. By fermenting the milk sugars (lactose) into alcohol and distilling it with 18 carefully curated botanicals - including locally-foraged sweet gale - they created a distinctive, velvet-smooth Irish gin that celebrates both local agriculture and sustainable craft distilling.
