    Fresh, fruity and spicy Douro from top Portuguese producers

    This medium bodied wine is fresh, fruity and spicy with smooth tannins. The wine has an intense ruby colour. Earl grey, black berries, hints of graphite and a subtle minty character gives the wine complexity and freshness.

    • Blend of Tinta Amarela, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional
    • Aged 50% in French oak for 6 months
    Cellaring:  Drink now through 2029
    Food Pairing: This wine  pairs beautifully with grilled peri-peri chicken, smoked chouriço, and slow-roasted pork shoulder. You can also serve it alongside traditional beef espetadas, lamb kebabs, and hearty bean stews. For vegetarian options and smaller bites, try spicy eggplant moussaka, blistered red peppers, wedges of aged cheddar or firm sheep's milk cheese, and rustic sourdough bread. |  🌡️ Serve between 16 and 18°C 

     

    STORY BEHIND THE WINE

    Dirk Niepoort is the 5th generation of his family to run Niepoort Vinhos. Founded as a Port House in 1842, they are known for their superb Port wines. However, they are now also considered to be one of the top Portuguese producers of table wines. In each country Niepoort commission a cartoonist to design a label. In Ireland the wine is labelled 'Sásta'. The drawings for Sasta are by Fintan Taite, an award winning Irish cartoonist and illustrator who lives and works in Dublin.
