A proud example of Irish brewing excellence

This amber ale from Kinnegar is a great example of how to balance traditional flavours with a modern craft approach. It feels a bit like a mellow autumn day - full-bodied and cozy but with enough of a crisp hop edge to keep things interesting. You get a smooth, reliable malt backbone featuring notes of toasted grain and caramel sweetness, all tied together by a clean finish and just the right amount of bitterness.

    • Hands-on approach to brewing
    • No filtering
    • No Pasteurisation
    Cellaring:  Ideal now
Food Pairing:  It works brilliantly with roasted meats, such as a traditional Sunday roast or slow-cooked pork. Also perfect with mushroom risotto or roasted root vegetables. For a cheese pairing, try it with a nutty Gruyère or a medium-aged cheddar to complement the toasted notes in the brew. It is even versatile enough to pair with desserts; the caramel profile makes it a surprisingly good companion for a sticky toffee pudding or a simple nut-based tart | 🌡️ Serve at a temperature around 7ºC.

    STORY BEHIND THE LABEL

Deeply rooted in the hilly fields and farms of northeast Donegal, Kinnegar blends tradition with a very practical, hands-on approach to brewing. By running a large-scale 35HL kit alongside their original smaller brewhouse, they manage to balance consistent production with the freedom to experiment on new, quirky recipes. They stick to time-honored methods like "spunding," where the yeast naturally carbonates the beer during fermentation, and they choose never to filter or pasteurise the final product to keep the flavours as honest as possible. The team is also entirely self-sufficient on-site, handling everything from their iconic 500ml bottles and 440ml cans to the kegs sent out to local pubs and export markets. It is a proper farmhouse operation that has grown up without losing its sense of place or its commitment to doing things the right way.
