A lovely fruity taste. Kept on drinking over several glasses.
heard Jean Smullen give glowing review on Moncrieff's Movies & Booze segment on Newstalk. She was spot on!
It reminds me to Burgundy. Mineral, lovely acidity, and tropical fruits.

A wonderful expression of the gamay grape. Aromas of ripe red and black fruit of strawberry, cranberry and blackberry with violet and spices .Beautifully integrated tannins that delivers a roundness on the palate and a velvety smooth finish.
Born in Morgon, winemaker Dominique Piron is the 14th generation since Etienne Bailly. The rarest of the Beaujolais Crus with only 240 hectares. Chénas was the favorite wine of Louis XIII, king of France from 1610 to 1643.On granite and quartz soils, this wine is elegant and generous. With its silky and almost saline side, this Chenas perfectly reflects the fifth flavour that comes from Asia: “umami”.
