    About Frapin

Frapin is one of the oldest producers of Cognac in France. Indeed, not only is the family’s history closely intertwined with the history of Cognac, its predates it by several centuries.

The Frapin family first appeared in what would become the Cognac region in 1270. In those days, the region was part of the Duchy of Aquitaine, which was in turn, as a result of the marriage of Eleanor of Aquitaine with Henry II, part of the Anglo-French “Angevin empire” of the British Plantagenets. The region would not be reclaimed by France until 1416.
