Medium bodied Volcanic Red Wine with ripe black fruits and silky tannins 

This medium bodied wine has an enticing dark ruby colour with generous aromas of ripe cherry, plum and blueberry. In the background there are notes of spice and liquorice which combine with silky tannins and a good acidity to give an overall warm mouthfeel. The finesse of the Piedirosso, the elegance of the Olivella tannins, and the strength of the Aglianico give life to this delicious Lacrimanero.

STORY BEHIND THE WINE

Cantine Olivella is a family winery named after the spring known as "dell'Olivella", at the foot of Monte Somma, in the heart of the Vesuvius National Park , where in 1974 remains of a Roman’s amphorae was found, evidence that the area was already known for its wines during the Roman empire. Today the winery cultivates about 10 hectares of organically grown vineyards located on the Vesuvius lava producing outstanding volcanic wines made with native grapes.
