    Medium bodied Volcanic Red Winewith ripe black fruits and silky tannins 

    A brilliant ruby red, it opens with an intense bouquet of small red berries and spices, underlined by the classic volcanic minerality. On the palate, it is fresh, well-balanced, and wonderfully drinkable, with supple tannins and a savory, sapid finish.

    • Ungrafted old vines
    • Blend of 50% Piedirosso, 30% Olivella, 20% Aglianico
    • Hand-harvested
    • Aged 7 months in stainless steel, followed by 3 months in the bottle
    • Fermentation on indigenous yeast
    Cellaring:  Drink now to 2028
    Food Pairing: Goes beautifully with mushroom risotto or grilled meats. It will also be an elegant and refined table wine that will accompany charcuterie boards as well as all kinds of pasta dishes (with white ragù, truffle, fresh tomato, etc.). Don't hesitate to serve it with Sunday's roast chicken |🌡️ Serve chilled around 16 °C

     

    STORY BEHIND THE WINE

    Cantine Olivella is a family winery named after the spring known as "dell'Olivella", at the foot of Monte Somma, in the heart of the Vesuvius National Park , where in 1974 remains of a Roman’s amphorae was found, evidence that the area was already known for its wines during the Roman empire. Today the winery cultivates about 10 hectares of organically grown vineyards located on the Vesuvius lava producing outstanding volcanic wines made with native grapes.
