Fresh & Mineral Terroir‑Driven Alsatian Riesling from Single Vineyard

With its fresh, clear appearance - a light green blending into lemon yellow with lovely intensity - this wine is captivating. The nose is fresh, direct, aromatic, fruity, and floral, offering clear notes of white flowers and citrus fruits like lemon and grapefruit. On the palate, it delivers fine vivacity and good length, evoking lemon pulp with hints of spring flowers. Sourced from Steinstuck, a Lieu-Dit situated above Westhalten, this wine truly shows off its origins with racy freshness and prominent mineral notes of chalk or wet rock.

    • 100% Riesling sourced from "Steinstuck"
    • Organically farmed
    Cellaring: 4 to 6 years
Food Pairing:  Perfect as an aperitif, seafood, fish in sauce, white meats, cheeses | 🌡️ Serve slightly chilled 12°C

    STORY BEHIND THE WINE

Domaine Moltès was founded in Pffaffenheim in 1930 by Antoine Moltès, the grandfather. The family legacy continued with his son, Roland, who took over in 1960, later joined by Josiane, his wife, in 1970 to further develop the estate.
Since 1995, the grandchildren, Stéphane and Mickaël, have proudly managed the vineyard, cellar, and overall operations.
Viticulture at Domaine Moltès has always been inextricably linked to environmental respect. This commitment culminated in organic farming certification for all their wines, achieved in 2015.

The two-hectare vineyard site Steinstück lies above the village of Westhalten, south of Colmar, at 310 to 320 meters above sea level, with an east-southeast exposure. Steinstück means ‘stone piece,’ a fitting name for a terroir whose soil consists of Muschelkalk - a rock type dominated by limestone and dolomite, once formed by an ancient sea. This unique terroir gives wines with a clear freshness and minerality behind a fine aromatic expression.

The grapes were harvested by hand on the fifth of October. After a careful six-hour pressing in a pneumatic press, spontaneous fermentation began with native yeasts. The fermentation lasted two months in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks (at 18°C). The young wine then rested on the lees for eight months before bottling.
