Fragrant and Pleasant wine from Sicily

A bright ruby red color with violet reflections, Sherazade 2023 presents a fruity bouquet with hints of rasperry and cherry, flanked by delicate spicy and balsamic notes. On the palate the fruity notes return smoothly, a red of great softness and excellent freshness. The caressing tannin completes this fragrant and pleasant wine.

STORY BEHIND THE WINE

In the heart of western Sicily - among the hills of Contessa Entellina, between 200 and 500 m a.s.l. - lie the vineyards Donnafugata comes from. The climate is Mediterranean, with rain concentrated during the autumn and winter months, dry and breezy summers, with a great range of air temperature variations between day and night. The soils are predominantly medium-clayey, but vary according to the peculiarities of the individual districts.For over 30 years Donnafugata has been pursuing environmental sustainability with a system of good practices: They do not use herbicides and chemical fertilisers and they minimise the use of pesticides. At the Contessa Entellina estate, they installed two photovoltaic systems in 2002 and 2008, in order to produce clean energy and reduce their emissions.
