STORY BEHIND THE LABEL

Château La Pointe is defined by its complex geological "mosaic," where gravel, pebbles, and clay-sand soils converge to create a uniquely elegant and refined style of wine. Since 2008, the estate has undergone a significant transformation under the guidance of consultant Hubert de Boüard de Laforest (of Château Angélus). Together, the team has refined their viticultural techniques to truly capture the soul and potential of this historic Pomerol property.

The 2022 vintage began with a mild winter that triggered an early start to the season. While spring brought a brief threat of frost, the vineyard remained largely unscathed, leading into a fast and perfectly even flowering period. Despite a summer defined by intense heat and drought, the vines showed remarkable resilience. This was largely due to the team’s precise canopy management and a few perfectly timed rain showers that provided much-needed relief. The resulting harvest yielded fruit with incredible depth and balance - a clear sign that the grapes were picked at their absolute peak.
