    R. Lopez de Heredia, "Vina Tondonia", Gran Reserva, 2004

Free Delivery from €150 We aim to deliver within 2 working days.

    A legendary Vina Tondonia

"Not far behind the Tondonia white in 2004 - and that’s high praise - the red from this historic vineyard is coming into its own at 20 years of age. Aromas of dill, rose petal, incense and antique books are an alluring introduction to a palate that has chalky freshness, savoury, granular tannins, tobacco leaf, Christmas spice and red berry flavours and enough backbone to age further in bottle."
    -Tim Atkin

    • Blend of Tempranillo/Garnacha/Mazuelo/Graciano
    • Matured in used barrels for 10 years
    • Robert Parker : 100/100 Pts
    • James Suckling: 98/100 Pts
    Cellaring:  Ideal now through 2040
Food Pairing:  Slow-roasted lamb, braised veal cheeks, and duck confit. You can also serve it alongside pan-seared venison loin, wild mushroom risotto, and earthy truffle dishes. For tapas and smaller bites, try thin slices of Jamón Ibérico de bellota, cured wild boar salami, wedges of aged Manchego cheese, and simple rustic bread drizzled with high-quality olive oil | 🌡️ Serve at a temperature around 16-18ºC.

    STORY BEHIND THE WINE

While everyone else is rushing to release, López de Heredia has spent 140 years practicing the dying art of patience. They keep their wine in the cellar until it’s actually ready to drink.Whether it’s their Crianza (which puts most Gran Reservas to shame) or this stunning 2004 Gran Reserva, these are some of the most soulful, complex wines you’ll ever find. With only 24,000 bottles for the whole world, it won't sit on our shelves for long!
