STORY BEHIND THIS WINE

Despite already having a well-established wine industry, 2020 was a breakout year for Moldovan wine. A number of its wineries performed exceptionally well in the Decanter world wine awards and is a reflection of its recovery after years of under-investment. Gitana is regarded as one of its top producers and Lupi is its flagship wine. Named after the wolves that roam the plantation, it’s a classic Bordeaux blend with a Moldovan twist and has come to represent the great potential of the region.
