We really love SA cabs, like Kanonkop, Lanzerac, and Thelema. At €28 this is big let-down. Nothing of note, either on fruit, acid or tannin. Tastes like a wine that costs less than a tenner.
Not the usual run of the mill SB we have all become used on the shelves of supermarkets and off licences. Good acidity and depth, clean and crisp. Went excellent with seafood and I will be stocking up on a few bottles. A must try
This is a light ish red (12.5%), but with a little bit of tannin, making it feel like a good red for an Irish summer. It comes across as something between a Grenache and maybe a beujolais, but have others refer to this grape as being similar to Italian Nebbiolos. It’s not my favourite kind of red, but it’s eminently drinkable and very well made.
