Wine of the Week | Bodegas de la Marquesa La Marquesa, 2018

"A bargain of a wine, even at its full price, and an interesting example of an old-school, fifth generation, family-run estate not afraid to tinker with the modern style of Rioja, this would make a great wine to serve at home with everything from the roast on Sunday to charcuterie for cosy movie nights. With refreshing aromas of wild mint, tea and rain-soaked stone giving edge to pomegranate and cherry, it plays to the lighter side of medium-bodied, with linear focus cushioned by soft edges. In a word, balanced."
