At Whelehans Wines, we’re lucky to be working with Domaine Tour Campanets, a brilliant little organic winery tucked away just outside the town of Aix-en-Provence. The estate is truly one of a kind, spanning 60 hectares of forest and 32 hectares of vineyard, all in one beautifully unbroken stretch of land. The vines grow on varied terrain, from gentle slopes to tucked-away valleys, at a rare north-facing elevation of 324 metres.

The soils are just as diverse as the scenery, ranging from white and salmon-pink clay to deep red and brown earth, all sitting atop layers of schist, flint, rhyolite, and ancient Cretaceous limestone. This rich and varied terroir gives the wines incredible depth, freshness, and unmistakable character. Every glass offers a real sense of place.

At the heart of the estate is the chai, the winery itself, a round, tower-like building built between 1963 and 1968 using the proportions of the golden ratio. It's more than a cellar; it’s a symbol of the domaine’s unique spirit. Inside, winemaking is done using gravity-fed concrete vats, a gentle, innovative method that keeps handling to a minimum and helps preserve the natural expression of the fruit. It’s a rare combination of art, architecture and winemaking that shows in every drop.

• Tasting Notes: A soft, pale pink in the glass with bursts of raspberry, strawberry and peony on the nose. On the palate, it’s bright and juicy with orange blossom, redcurrant and cherry, finishing with zingy freshness.

• Tasting Notes: Think floral notes of violet and rose, with red berries, bergamot, and a lovely lift from mint and verbena. There’s also a touch of vanilla and spice. The finish? Fresh, fruity, and full of life.

• Blend: 80% Grenache, 10% Syrah, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon

• Great With: Lobster in Armorican sauce, seared scallops, duck breast or even sushi.
