This vineyard of Chardonnay grapes was planted in 1988, making it one of the oldest Chardonnay vineyards in the country. The estate is owned by the Ord family .The name Waterford is a combination of the Ord surname as well as the waterfalls from the mountains that surround the estate (WATERF + ORD). Working with their current winemaker Mark Le Roux, the Ord family are committed to producing wines of the highest quality that express the terrior of the Helderberg mountains.
