Why Buy Me
Conte Vistarino is a large estate (800 hectares, 200 under vine) located in the far North of Italy in the Lombardy region. Given the estates proximity, inland and just south of the Italian Alps, their wines have exceptional freshness and balance. All three of their wines, which Whelehans have recently started importing (April 2021), are well worth seeking out.
Pinot Grigio for many can tend to be a byword for bland white wine, this is a shame and is probably a function of the glut of P. Grigio at the cheap and cheerful end of the price scale. However in the right hands the variety can produce lovely wines. Peach, nectarine and green apple fruit with a fresh zip of acidity to marshall the various flavours makes for a very enjoyable Summery white wine.
