From one of the top-10 traditional Rioja producers (Tim Atkin MW), this family run estate has 5 had 5 generations making wine for over 100 years. The average age of the vines is 30 years old. The family belief is that the quality of the wines is born in the vineyards.
The grapes are selected and harvested by hand from the winery's own vineyards. The grapes are macerated and fermented at a controlled, cool temperature inside stainless steel vats. Oak ageing is carried out for 18 months inside French and American barrels.
