A Rioja Reserva offering a riper, more opulent profile

"Evolved oak tones, vanilla and tertiary nuance emerge on the nose, alongside lively black fruit and finely judged wood. Dry and lightly chalky, the palate reflects the warmth of the vintage with a riper expression. It is aromatically a touch less intricate than in cooler years, a consequence of the warm growing season."
    -Joaquín Hidalgo

    STORY BEHIND THE LABEL

Founded in 1877 by Don Rafael López de Heredia y Landeta, Bodegas López de Heredia is the flagship estate of classic Rioja winemaking in Haro, Spain. Celebrated for its unwavering commitment to traditional viticulture, the winery ages its wines for extended periods in its own cooperage-crafted oak barrels followed by lengthy bottle maturation prior to release.

The 2015 vintage required exceptional mastery in the cellar; challenging fermentations forced the winemaking team to manage distinct lots carefully, adjusting blending percentages with permitted vintage additions to achieve their signature balance and silky restraint. With a limited production run of just 85,000 bottles, this release highlights the estate’s historic resilience and craftsmanship. Completing the release, Viña Bosconia was bottled in March 2023, offering remarkable structure, traditional elegance, and legendary cellaring potential.
