    Ripe, spicy and complex Douro

Deep ruby in appearance with rich and inviting mature black fruit aromas. Full-bodied with core fruit flavours of mulberry, ripe dark cherries, damson plums and blackberries. Oak ageing adds warm, spicy notes of clove and nutmeg. Smooth tannins and an afterglow of dark chocolate on the finish rounds this off delightfully

    • Blend of Touriga Nacional , Touriga Franca, Tinta Amarela ,Barroca, Sousao, Tinta Roriz (Tempranillo) - Old vines from the Cima Corgo sub-region
    • Aged 16 months in French and American oak
    Cellaring:  Drink now to 2035
Food Pairing: Perfect with a roasted leg of lamb crusted with garlic and rosemary or a slow-cooked venison stew infusing wild berries. Incredible alongside a traditional Portuguese chanfana (hearty red wine-braised goat) or a rich, earthy mushroom and truffle pasta. Also delicious with sharp, pungent cheeses like an artisanal Azeitao or a mature, crumbly Stilton. | 🌡️ Serve at around 16-18°C

    STORY BEHIND THE WINE

Quinta dos Avidagos is a historic family-owned winery in Portugal’s Douro Valley, with roots dating back to 1670. Combining centuries of tradition with modern winemaking, the estate cultivates native Douro grape varieties across multiple vineyards to produce acclaimed red, white, rosé, and Port wines. The Quinta dos Avidagos Além Tanha is primarily produced from Old Vines and the Touriga Nacional grape variety. Aged for an extended period in oak barrels, this wine seeks to express the richness and concentration of the grapes grown in the Cima Corgo region.
