An authentic Chianti Classico with character

Rich ruby red colour. The nose is unmistakably Sangiovese: sour cherry, ripe plum, thyme and a hint of leather, underpinned by subtle spice. Dry and decisive on the palate, with fine tannins and a fruity vein that makes the wine accessible and easy to drink. A classic with character.

STORY BEHIND THE LABEL

The Poggio Bonelli winery in the extreme south of Chianti Classico began to cultivate wine as far back as the 16th Century . Over the centuries, the estate has been owned by various noble families from Siena. The vineyards cover an area of 83 hectares near Castelnuovo Berardenga and the southern and south-western areas are planted with Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The wines are vinified today in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks and later matured mainly in small French oak barrels before being refined in the bottle.
