This is a wine for those who prefer a fuller-bodied rosé over light elegance.

STORY BEHIND THE WINE

Scottish owner Walter McKinlay purchased Domaine de Mourchon in 1998, initially acquiring 17 hectares of old vines and later expanding the estate to 35 hectares. A modern gravity-fed winery was built soon after, helping to establish the domaine’s reputation for quality.
Located in a high-altitude valley near Séguret and Mont Ventoux, the vineyards benefit from cool nights and diverse soils, ideal for producing balanced, fresh wines. Since 2020, the estate has been fully certified organic, with a strong focus on sustainable farming practices.
Today, the domaine is run by Kate McKinlay and winemaker Sébastian Magnouac, continuing the family’s commitment to quality. I

The vines are 40 years old, and yields are low at just 35 hl/ha—unusually low for rosé production. The grapes come from vineyards planted in clay, limestone, and sandstone soils at around 320 meters above sea level.
Winemaking combines the saignée method - drawing off juice from the red wine fermentation after a few hours - and direct pressing with a short 3-4 hour maceration to achieve the desired color and flavour profile.
