STORY BEHIND THE LABEL

Single Pot Still is the quintessential Irish whiskey style, historically forged in response to an 18th-century tax on malted barley. Distillers cleverly incorporated unmalted green barley alongside malted barley into their copper pot stills, inadvertently creating a distinctively rich, creamy, and spicy flavor profile unique to Ireland. While Jameson became famous globally as a smooth blended whiskey, its heritage is deeply rooted in this single pot still tradition. This bottling pays homage to the historic Bow Street distillery techniques, reimagined at the Midleton Distillery to celebrate the classic soul of iconic Irish spirit making.
