One of the legendary wines of the world, Hermitage "La Chapelle"

Deep and inky, with remarkable definition of flavours, with spice, cured, Hermitage La Chapelle meat, charcoal and a hint of blood, this is intense and very powerful. The volume of La Chapelle marks it out, with silky tannins coating every part of the mouth.

    STORY BEHIND THE WINE

This Hermitage wine is the result of a rigorous selection of plots of land. It stems from old vines that are between 40 and 95 years old. Trained on stakes and planted on a mosaic of terroirs, these vines contribute to the signature style of this exceptional wine. The grapes are harvested by hand and sorted by plot. Vinification along with gentle extractions. The wine is aged in French oak barrels.

One of the most recognised producers in the Rhône Valley, Jaboulet was first created in the early 1800s. Up until a couple of years ago, it remained family owned. Over time, it established its flagship Hermitage La Chapelle as one of the top wines of the region ranking it along Chave Hermitage and Guigal single-vineyard Côte-Rôties in quality. In early 2006, the Jaboulet family sold their heralded domaine to the Frey family, owners of Château La Lagune in Bordeaux and major investors in Billecart-Salmon in Champagne. Since this change of hands, investment has been foremost - contributing to new winemaking facilities as well as creating a dramatic and imposing aging cellar sculpted out of an ancient quarry, a space that might put a superhero's headquarters to shame.
