"The estate's 40th anniversary vintage, this 2022 leads with minty red and black berry aromas. Fleshy, sapid and saline, it has a very fresh and vertical profile but is just a little bit drying on the finish at this stage. Floral overtones mingle with pepper and herbs, while tangy red forest berries are supported by silky and integrated tannins. Tight and energetic."

STORY BEHIND THE WINE

Podere Grattamacco is a pioneering Tuscan winery founded in 1977 atop a hill between Castagneto Carducci and Bolgheri. As the second estate in Bolgheri, it was the first to plant Vermentino and retain Sangiovese in its Cabernet‑based blends. The estate farms 34 ha of vines organically, producing powerful yet elegant reds including its widely acclaimed Bolgheri Superiore.
