    • Jancis Robinson | 16.5/20 Pts

    STORY BEHIND THE WINE

Domaine Girardin has farmed across the Côte de Beaune since 1570. In 2013, 13th-generation winemaker Justin Girardin took over from his parents, bringing a fresh perspective shaped by his winemaking experience in Pomerol, Maury, and Tasmania.

Spanning 17 hectares across Maranges, Santenay, Savigny-lès-Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet, Pommard, and Meursault, the estate's diverse plot holdings cover Regional, Premier Cru, and Grand Cru sites. Justin manages the vineyards under strict biodynamic practices - working almost entirely by hand with massal selection and following the lunar calendar. This low-intervention philosophy extends to the cellar through cold maceration, natural yeast fermentations, light filtration, and bottling according to favorable lunar phases.
