    Intense and Elegant Sauvignon Blanc from the Pouilly-Fumé Area

    This intense and elegant wine, has distinct notes of citrus (lemon, lime), green apple, gooseberry, and a minerally, flinty edge typical of Pouilly-Fumé wines. Medium-bodied with a silky, round mouthfeel with flavours of citrus, orchard fruits, and hints of tropical fruit. There's also a subtle herbal note (fresh-cut grass or nettle) . This wine delivers a crisp acidity, balanced by a rich texture and depth of flavour.

    STORY BEHIND THE WINE

    Pur Sang translates as a thoroughbred Arab horse. Didier Dagueneau, a pioneering winegrower in the Loire, was a great specialist of the Sauvignon Blanc variety and one of the first to use biodynamic agriculture on his 11 hectares in the AOC Pouilly-Fumé. Since 1982 Didier has produced singular,very complex and age-worthy Sauvignon Blanc in Pouilly-Fumé . Didier Dagueneau was one of the first in the region to experiment with single-parcel wines, starting with “En Chailloux” in 1982, and later “Pur Sang” in 1988. When he died in 2008, his son Louis Benjamin Dagueneau took over with the same philosophy and it is clearly evident Louis Benjamin has inherited his father's perfectionism.
