    STORY BEHIND THE WINE

Caleruega is a historic town – dating back to approximately 912 AD – located in the province of Burgos. In 1170, Dominic of Guzman, the Catholic saint who founded the Dominican Order, was born within its walls. Within the estates lies the oldest underground winery in the Ribera del Duero region. Dating back to the 12th century and carved into the rock, this winery once belonged to King Alfonso VIII.
