Beguiling and Aristocratic Burgundian Pinot Noir

Well-toned, bright and vivacious. Opens slowly at first but with time fresh aromas of red and black fruits and warm, earthy spices unfold. On the palate you get black cherries, cranberry, pomegranate and raspberry coulis alongside some smoky liquorice and truffles. With fine-grained tannins, supple mid-palate and an energetically mineral finish. Decant for 1 hour beforehand.

STORY BEHIND THIS WINE

Boasting 7 Grand Cru sites and 11 Premier Crus on 17 hectares lying across some exceptional terroir on Burgundy’s celebrated Côte-d'Or, this is a Domaine of exceptional prestige. The wine here is hand-harvested and carefully selected from old vines as well as being biodynamically and organically produced. This is Burgundy at its purest. Sitting on the fabled hill of Corton, Clos du Roi translates as “the walled vineyard of the king”. While the aristocracy may be now long gone, that shouldn’t stop you drinking like a monarch.
