STORY BEHIND THIS WINE
Roble is a style that is growing in popularity in the premium red wine region of Ribera Del Duero. Like its Rioja counterpart, age is primary defining characteristic of the wine here. As such, Roble can be described as the baby of the bunch as it relates to ageing, with the shortest amount of time in oak barrels. Usually up to a max of 6 months in comparison to a minimum of 12 months for Crianza. This light touch of oak gives a little vanilla and spice kick to season and enhance the wine. It also adds another dimension to a region that’s already a favourite amongst Irish drinkers.
