    BEHIND THE WINE

Roda is a modern winery perched in the renowned Barrio de la Estación in Haro, the heart of La Rioja Alta. It is built on a 19th-century calado, an underground cave with high humidity and stable year-round temperatures, ideal for wine storage and aging. The winery seamlessly blends innovative techniques with the region’s long-standing winemaking traditions.

At Bodegas Roda, wines are crafted and classified based on the unique characteristics of each vineyard plot, ensuring every bottle reflects the surrounding landscape. These plots, composed of old vines, yield grapes of exceptional quality.

Roda I Reserva is sourced from vineyards known for producing grapes with deep flavours and notes of black fruits. Harvesting is done selectively to capture optimal ripeness. Fermentation occurs in oak vats under controlled temperatures, followed by 16 months of aging in French oak barrels, half of which are new and the rest used once. The wine naturally stabilizes, is clarified with egg whites, and is bottled. After bottling, it matures for an additional 20 months in the winery, achieving perfect balance before release.
