STORY BEHIND THIS WINE
Etienne Guigal is synonymous with excellence in the Northern Rhone where his Côte Roties’ are legendary and priced accordingly. We are particularly taken by this Saint-Joseph « Lieu-dit » which is produced from the Saint-Joseph registered vines which originally lent their name to the appellation. We believe the wine clearly demonstrates the dizzy heights good Syrah can achieve. Time will be a good ally to this wine.
The heady oak spice is matched every step of the way with intense black fruit with a jammy but still fresh style. Long, intense, finely tannic, fresh acidity. The oak remains a major feature, but such is the quality of the flavours, you can't help admiring it.
