Why Buy Me
Etienne Guigal is synonymous with excellence in the Northern Rhone where his Côte Roties’ are legendary and priced accordingly. We are particularly taken by this Saint-Joseph « Lieu-dit » which is produced from the Saint-Joseph registered vines which originally lent their name to the appellation. We believe the wine clearly demonstrates the dizzy heights good Syrah can achieve. Time will be a good ally to this wine.
Complex with dominant black fruit and delicate oak aromas. A pure and intense nose. On the palate the wine has a powerful attack with round and elegant tannins. Fresh and powerful this wine will age gracefully. Only 1,500 cases were made.

“I loved the barrel sample of the 2017 Saint Joseph Lieu Dit Saint Joseph, which shows the more opulent, sexy style of the vintage beautifully. With classic notes of crème de cassis, black raspberries, spicy oak, and bacon fat, it hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, a silky texture, good concentration and a great finish. It’s going to drink nicely in its youth yet also age gracefully.”
