Mineral & Fresh Off-Dry Riesling
"Some people will tell you that Mosel Kabinett must be light, and this is definitely just over the line in medium-bodied territory, but what an amazing balance this wine has. The interplay of succulence and mineral acidity is off the scale, the diamond-like brilliance at the finish totally extraordinary. From over 60-year-old vines. Drink or hold."

STORY BEHIND THE WINE
Weingut Gunther Steinmetz is a third generation winery in Brauneberg. Stefan Steinmetz and his wife Sammie took over the business in 2014 and continue the tradition that three-family started over a hundred years ago. The winery believe that controlled low harvest quantities, a strict selection of the harvest (all grapes are harvested and sorted by hand) and a particularly gentle grape processing without mechanical stress guarantee the highest quality.
The Geierslay is a fascinating site, that combines all things fairly full sun exposure, with cooling side valley temperature swings, a complex blend of blue/purplish slate with a lot of quartz in it, and a fairly steep slope!
