STORY BEHIND THE LABEL

A historic landmark on Bordeaux’s Right Bank, Château de Sales has remained in the Lambert family for over five centuries and currently holds the distinction of being the largest estate in the Pomerol appellation with 47.60 hectares of vines. The 2022 vintage was defined by a mild, dry winter and a late budburst that fortunately shielded the vineyard from early April frosts. A warm spring accelerated the growing cycle, leading to flowering ten days ahead of the ten-year average, while the vines showed remarkable resilience against the scorching, dry summer heat. This durability resulted in an advanced veraison and an early harvest between September 7th and 21st, producing a wine that reflects both the estate's historic scale and the concentrated intensity of a unique growing season.
