Widely revered as the "Lord of Barsac," Château Climens was awarded First Growth status in the historic 1855 Classification. The estate’s reputation for peerless elegance is rooted in its distinctive limestone terroir; in fact, its name originates from a Celtic term for "unfertile land"- a characteristic that paradoxically provides the perfect environment for crafting world-class dessert wines.

Spanning 30 hectares at the highest elevation in the Barsac appellation, the vineyard is planted exclusively with Sémillon. In these iron-rich clay and limestone soils, the grape achieves a rare balance of aromatic depth and vibrant freshness. Under the dedicated stewardship of Bérénice Lurton, the team treats every stage of viticulture and winemaking as a fine art. The result is a wine celebrated for its absolute purity and consistency, securing its place as one of the most prestigious and reliable sweet wines in all of Bordeaux.
