Syrah, a bold and sometimes robust red wine, first made its mark in France’s Rhône Valley. It’s also Australia’s favourite grape, where they affectionately call it Shiraz.

Côte Rôtie, which translates to 'roasted slope,' is a standout French appellation for Syrah, right up there with Hermitage and Cornas. The top wines from this region dazzle with flavours of black raspberry, black currant, and violet, enriched with chocolate notes. You'll also discover savory touches of olive, bacon fat, white pepper, and a distinctive charcoal smoke. They’re bold yet meticulously balanced, featuring fine-grained tannins.
