Pouilly-Fuissé is a highly regarded white wine appellation situated in the Mâconnais - subregion of Burgundy. It encompasses vineyards within the communes of Fuissé, Solutré-Pouilly, Vergisson, and Chaintré. Exclusively crafted from the Chardonnay grape, Pouilly-Fuissé stands out as the most renowned part of the Mâconnais.

The appellation's origins date back to September 11, 1936, when it was officially established. A significant development occurred in September 2020 when Pouilly-Fuissé was granted Premier Cru designation, recognising 22 specific vineyard plots (known as climats) for their exceptional quality.

Historically, the region was simply called "Pouilly." However, with the introduction of Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée (AOC) laws, it was divided into three distinct appellations: Pouilly-Fuissé, Pouilly-Loché, and Pouilly-Vinzelles.
