Il Feuduccio Winery was founded by Gaetano Lamaletto in 1995 in the province of Chieti in the region of Abruzzi. Today Il Feuduccio is proudly run by the founders’ son, Camillo Lamaletto, and his son Gaetano. Lamaletto bought a superb hillside site at the foot of Mount Maiella and with a great eye for detail planted 54 acres of different clones of vines to match the various soil types using only native varieties like Montepulciano and Pecorino. The grapes are hand packed into small crates before sorting and fermentation in steel vats followed by ageing in oak barrels of various sizes, 30% new for 12 months. The result is a wine with good fruit such as cherry and plum but with an earthy spicey side to it to and a little tannin giving a bit of bite and focus.
