Smooth and Silky Margaux from Top Producer

Deep ruby purple colour and evocative and seductive aromatics of blue fruit and bramble. The palate is smooth and silky, with soft and integrated tannins allowing the fruit to shine. There is freshness of acidity on the back end that lifts the palate to add some florality.

BEHIND THE WINE

Château d’Angludet, a distinguished Cru Bourgeois estate, has earned a reputation for consistently producing wines of grand cru classé quality. Nestled in the prestigious Margaux appellation, its vineyards are uniquely located at the convergence of the Cantenac, Arsac, and Labarde communes.

The property was revitalized by the late Peter Sichel, who acquired it in 1961 and dedicated 37 years to transforming it. When Sichel took over, both the vineyards and the winery were in poor condition, but his vision and relentless effort elevated Château d’Angludet to its current esteemed status.

Spanning 32 hectares, the vineyard is planted with Cabernet Sauvignon (58%), Merlot (35%), Cabernet Franc (5%), and Petit Verdot (2%). The grapes undergo fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks before the wine is aged for 12 months in oak barriques, 25-33% of which are new. True to tradition, the wine is bottled unfiltered, preserving its character and depth.
